Three Types of Deadbolts
Single-Cylinder
Key outside, thumbturn inside. Convenient and safe with quick keyless exit — best for solid doors without adjacent glass.
Double-Cylinder
Key required on both sides — maximum security for doors with glass panels, but often against California fire code for residential egress doors. Professional consultation required.
Captive Thumbturn (Hybrid)

- ANSI Grade — we install Grade 2 (heavy residential) and Grade 1 (the highest rating, built for extreme forced entry).
- The cylinder — we can upgrade any deadbolt with a UL437-listed MUL-T-LOCK high-security cylinder: pick and drill resistant, with patented key control so nobody duplicates your key without your card.
- Installation — a 1-inch bolt throw and a heavy-gauge strike plate anchored with 3-inch screws into the stud framing can increase kick-in resistance by several hundred percent.
